Dave,
I did those things on the "Real" machine, not simulated.

MSM states that "surface not found", that is the issue. The probe gets moved fine except when it gets triggered by hitting something it doesn't get triggered in MSM and displays a surface not found message.

Have you worked through section 8.11 of the manual?
That set of steps is designed to start simple and work up in complexity re probe fast and slow feed rates and noise etc.
Forgive me but I'm a tad skeptical that one can work thru those steps, have them all work fine, and then have all probe operations fail with surface not found ;)

Dave,
I understand your suspicion. Believe me, I was scratching my head as it just did not make sense. Especially since the other screen sets worked as expected.

Last night I gutted the probe by removing the resister and LED. I tested after gutting the probe and there was no change and getting the surface not found message which didn't make sense. From what I've read, that seems to cure the issue with most folks.

I got home tonight and decide to disable all input pins, closed mach. Restarted and enabled the input pins, closed mach. Set the PDMX-126 as I've always run it, as I changed to jumbo mode to use a different pin which is tied to pin 15 as indicated for a 2 probe/touch plate etc configuration. So, everything is back to my normal configuration as when I started to probe with msm.

Well, it is now working as expected and I can stop scratching my head :)

Hum, what is jumbo mode on the 126...?
I'm asking as the term caused some old brain cells to fire and I remembered that there is a multiplexing mode that the mach PP can do. It's not supported by many break out boards, but I think the 126 is one that can use it.
When in multiplexing mode, mach attempts to switch logical signals between physical pins - and that breaks probing inputs (See MSM release notes item 4.6 for more info). Could you have had the BoB in a multiplexing mode?
OTOH, I'd not expect this to be relevant since you are using a SS and not a PP.

In any case, I'd happy to hear it's all working as expected again.

Jumbo mode applies to using 1 paralel port to allow 5/6 axis and doesn't actually apply to my setup, but it also allows for 2 probing inputs so I tried that configuration. The 126 allows for 2 probing inputs without Jumbo mode which I tried first which is configured via dip switches. When things did not function in my standard configuration, I tried other combinations.

The PMDX-126 does support what it calls Expanded Mode which multiplexes (although PMDX does use that terminology) to allow more input/output when using a single paralel port.

Thanks for your assistance. Now I can continue to setup TCP TP and get tools setup in TTS holders, use master tool mode and operate like you do by not using "skip RH tools" :)
