knee mill dro manual mode

Post by electromech31 »

Hello
My mill iss stepper driven using PMDX 132 bob with four gecko G302v drivers. The mill has two linear scales which I hooked up to a Soundlogic encoder interface board. I have used the mill in manual mode bob is not powered and soundlogic is, Mach3 runs and I can use setting page as a DRO display.. Ive had Mach 3 running with this setuo for two years error free. Im currently using the persoal version of msm, plan on purchasing if there are option Im looking for.

I understand that mach3 is intended for a cnc, as I know being a machinist that has used cnc for several years, some operations are quicker on a manuall with DRO. Also as a machinist I really rather spend my time flinging chips then learning how to construct software.
My question is. Do you have a Adfon Page that would display the X, Y, and Z, from the settings? This would make it alot easier to display.

I'm not sure what you are referring to with ".. the settings". MSM displays the DROs that mach provides for the axes.
If non-standard DROs are used by the soundlogic board, they could be displayed in MSM via some customization. There is a page in MSM that is mostly blank and intended as a place for users to put custom controls (without having to invent whole new pages etc) - it's the User Exts page. A set of big, easy to read encoder position DROs would be easy to put there. However, this is a"user" customization page - so you'd need to do that as CVI does not do one off custom jobs as an included part of the low MSM end user price. We could also quote you a one off fee to make such a page modification if you're interested in that approach.
