Button Graphic

Post by wildgrav »

Hi All

I am in the process of configuring a nuk to replace the aging computer and I have a problem with most buttons I click on.
The graphic goes wonky as per the attached pic.

Change tabs within the program and they reappear.

Any help appreciated.

Regards

Noel

Re: Button Graphic

Hi,
I'm afraid that the problem is a mach 3 issue. I have seen that happen occasionally. The bitmap graphics which are put together for a screen set are a static images. Mach3 does something internally, when you click a button, it resizes the button bitmap smaller on the down click, redraws it over the prior button graphic (while the button is down), then redraws the orig button graphic when the mouse button is released. I believe this is how Mach3 simulates an animated button press. It appears that machs sometimes messes up the bitmaps and the button area is left with what appears to be part of some other image. When you shift tabs, mach has to draw the new screen image, as a side effect mach redraws all the buttons on that page and you are back to the "correct" image. This happens again when you shift back to the corrupted tab page.

The bug appears to be a software timing problem. If you have graphics config options for the NUC, you might try playing with the graphics settings (graphics acceleration level/amount is one that may make a difference) to see if it alters the frequency of the problem.

Unfortunately, all this is done internal to mach3. Since there is nothing which MSM (or any other screen set) can do about it that I know of.
