Hi,
The MSM version is shown on the Reference page in the main panel. The center bottom box of the panel shows the MSM version, edition and the licensee information.

Just upgraded the Shop PC and bought new version of MSM.
Have the following issues..
1. The New Fangled Wizards G Code will not appear in the Load/Run Screen when you exit NFS. (I have a licence version) The G code will appear if you go and load the file from the Newprogram.tap file.
2. The editor is set to c:\windows\notepad.exe. The program is there, works from my desktop but MSM can't find it. The path is there in the XML file. But MSM cannnot find it.. My MSM system in the office gives Error on Line:928-Internal Error when I try to edit from MSM.
3. I selected the Reference Page and clicked on the reference manual. Unfortunately I didn't have Adobe loaded at the time. I have now loaded Adobe but MSM does nothing when I select the reference manual. Seems to be stuck. My MSM system in the office doesn't suffer from this problem.
4. The jog popup would be even better with 6 axis on it..My Xbot-Shuttle has 5 axis only so I'm struggling with the 6th . Something very simple would be nice.
I would appreciate some assistance. Nothing I try seems to resolve it..I'm missing something obviously very simple..

Hi,
Please let me know the stock info I need for all help requests:
1) specific version of MSM that you are using.
2) the version of windows
3) the version of mach

I just ran the NewF wizards - happened to try the rectangle wizard.. all works fine for me - when I exit the wizard ai have the gcode in the load screen.
Did you click the "post code" button in the wizard before exiting the wizard?

This is also working when I try it.
When you say the editor "is set", do you mean it is set in Mach or set in MSM?
MSM differentiates between a non-gode editor and a g-code editor (See user manual for more info). Mach's settings only have one "editor" that mach uses for all file types.
For MSM, go to the settings page, and click the "set utility paths" button - that will let you see and set the path to the
non-Gcode editor
gcode editor
PDF reader

Make sure all three are set to whatever utilities that you want to be using.

If the MSM path to the pdf utility is set to a valid pdf reader, it should work fine. Check the MSM utility path per above note.

The MSM pop up only has 4 axes on it (even in the 6 axis screen set). I have on the to-do list to see about extending the flyout page to have 6 axes in the 6 axis screen set. I am a tad worried about two more axes and the required garaphics being able to fit on the fly out page area, but I've not tried to do it yet.

Dave, thank you for the reply.
MSM version 2.0.8.
Windows 8.1. I have loaded the new .dll from Calypso.
Mach 3 is R3.043.066.

The irony is that the HISTORY readout is done in Notepad.

I am using MAchStdMill and the 6 axis screen set on a 24 inch screen. PLENTY of room for a larger popup. PLENTY..

I have amended the Set Utilities and reloaded Adobe. The Gcode editor and the .pdf references are now working. Thank you for your assistance. I have a separate XML editor which I get to via the desktop.
The issue remains with Newfangled. This problem is ONLY with any Newfangled wizards. With any other wizard, the Gcode is in the window and the graphic/toolpath is there on the RUN screen. If I use Newfangled, the operation generates and previews OK in the wizard, BUT on return to MSM screen, neither the graphic or the Gcode is visible on the RUN or LOAD screens. If I then go to 'recent' and load 'newprogram.tap', the new-fangled Gcode (just created) and the graphic appear.
When I load my LATHE profile ( to run the lathe) and got WIZARDS, TURNING and generate Gcode and POST the code. I return to the MSM LATHE screen and both the Gcode and graphic are normal. Gcode editor is also good.
Something funny about the MILL profile/Newfangled setup..
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hum, I don't know what you mean by "I have loaded the new .dll..." since MSM is not a single DLL, it has many files that are installed by the MSM installer.

Alas, not so.... you're thinking that screen area you see relates to area where graphics can be placed; but that sort of modern thinking is not applicable to mach screen sets ;)
Mach 3 screen sets are fixed size bitmaps. They do not stretch to fit a physical screen resolution and the graphics are not scalable (they are again fixed size bit maps). MSM provides most screens in two resolutions: 1024x768 and 1280x960.
That means that the fly out page (being a fraction of an entire page) is rather limited for the number of pixels it covers.. thus cramming more stuff into the fixed size area can be problematic.
Yeah, I know that is a silly limitation in terms of any gui system created in the last decade - but this is mach 3 and making it do something is generally an exercise in 1960's programming techniques...

That's two of the three - how about the non-gcode editor? Is that working for you too?

What version of the newfangeld wizards are you using?
I'll ask again re if you clicked the "post code" button in the wizard before exiting back to MSM. If you don't tell the wizard to post the code, it will not get sent to mach, and then when you exit back to mach (and hence MSM) you won't see any code loaded into mach. This matches the symptom you've described.
