Path Pilot?

Hello,

I know you have been asked the "Mach4 question" several times and I completely agree the whole Mach3/4 transition is a complete "Charlie Foxtrot". Conversely the new Path Pilot from Tormach seems to be the opposite. And if you were to throw in with anyone it seems this would be a good target. Unfortunately they don't plan to support anything other than their own Tormach H/W which would limit your market and I am not sure they would be open to working with anyone creating S/W that would interact with theirs -- they are fairly notable for wanting to retain complete control of their system. However, these things might change, especially if someone were to license their software and add on top of it -- plus then maybe offer to support other H/W. Could be an interesting business opportunity if you could get all of the pieces pulled together. I really like everything about Path Pilot except it lacks a lot of MSM's great features. I am actually have a separate machine controller set up for Path Pilot. I attach and boot either the Mach3/MSM system or the Path Pilot system depending upon my needs. A bit of a pain but mostly worth the effort.

That's actually close to an idea I have been giving some serious consideration to.... I would like to talk to you about path pilot to get your perspective as a Path Pilot user. I'd met Greg several times over the years and was considering an idea that he might be interested in... The unfortunate news of his recent passing, puts a bit of a crimp in that plan. But I am sure Tormach will go on as Greg made sure to plan for such things.

I'll contact you directly to see if we could set up a off-line conversation.
Dave
