Tool change and TLO

Post by vinythewheel »

Basicaly, i want to change tool and want Mach to set the TLO.
The Touch Plate was set like the first tutorial video on MSM web site.
I mesure all tool using the button "Mesure tool" in the Tolling page.
Each time i send the folowing code:
t1 m6 %i put the right tool in the spindle
g43 h6
Push "Mesure tool" button
Save tool table
Then pass to the other tool.

Then i want to mill some part, so i put a tool in the holder, launch t13 m6, then g43 h13.
i touch my part with that toll, zero the Z axis in the Run page with the button.
i lift up the z axis, put another tool, send t2 m6, g43 h2, move the tip of that tool to the surface of my part (suppose to be zero)
And guess what, -93mm ??? there somthing i dont catch.

I dont use all the "auto" fuction for TLO because i dont want to lay down on my working table a 4" by 4" touch plate and loose working place.
All my tool are in BT-30 holder, i use the MSM ver 2.0.10

Is there somting wrong with what i do?

Find that i have to copy PTL value in TLO.
Hard to do because when i push the edit button for Tool Table Edit. All value pup up with "," and when you hit "Ok" the screen reset. So i have to replace all "," by "." then my change can be recorded. It's a small "Pain in the ass"

Over all, every thing work fine now.
I read in couple of post that i have to send G43 H* each time after a M6 T* t make MACH point on the right TLO.
When i send M6 T* in auto TCP TLO TLO=PTL, the machine go in the tool change position. and the magic go on. My parts reference are at the good place.

Thanks

Are you running a PC that is set to non-english regional settings?
I ask because that is when people typically ask about the problems caused by regions that swap "," and "." within numbers. It is a Mach problem that Mach only supports operation with English regional settings.
Since Mach does not work correctly with non-english settings, there is nothing I can do to make MSM work correctly. Please see the MSM release notes item 4.53 for more information.
