Yes they have to be on the same pin. Mach only has one input signal for it's "probe input" and thus it uses one pin only.

Mach does not support two physical pins being connected to a single logical input signal.
For example, this is not possible in mach:
you can't connect a probe to Pin 12 and a touch plate to pin 13 and then make both pins 12 & 13 be the probe input signal.

The requirement to attach all devices that need to create a "probe event" to a single pin, can require some adjustments of the electrical levels of the devices external to the pin connection point (typically at the break out board). This situation is covered in chapter 6 of the MSM user manual.

BTW, This is one reason I like the PMDX 126 break out board; it has hardware built in so that an active high and an active low device can be connected to two diff pins at the board, then the 126 combines the inputs in hardware and feeds the combined result to mach as a single input.

That's maybe of less interest when you already have a BoB, I mention it for the benefit of future readers...

I like PMDX too!... I have a PMDX 126 board myself and it's simply the best BOB I've ever used. It's actually far more evolved than a BOB. I had a PMDX 125 before, and have used Campbell boards, the infamous Gecko G100 (hideous experience there), Galil and have heavily researched many others.
My PMDX 126, 107 (for VFD spindle output), and their 105 for added inputs isolation is my current setup.
I use a Probe and a Touch Plate together, each have their own input pins on the 126 where PMDX combines them logically at the board-level. Mach3 Port and Pins just has the single Probe assignment and all works perfectly in MSM.
