Re: Mach4 support

Thanks Dave. I dug a while at the site and full agree with everything you say. It will be interesting to see how this goes as this has all the trappings of a product that needed some improvements and what came out is something far beyond what was wanted or needed for many customers. How many OEMS's ...

If statement supported?

I wrote some g code with a simple if statement

IF [#190 gt 0 ] goto 140

and I get unknown word starting with f. Are conditionals such as If, GOTO supported?

I am using the G-wiz editor and it says is valid, but maybe a Mach 3 issue?

Thanks '

Re: Question on master tool mode

Thanks so much. This was one of those problems where I knew I had read/seen what I was doing wrong, but just couldn't nail it down. As soon as I saw the H1, I knew that was what was bothering me. I like the tool plate idea, but am using a Tormach, so I will have to see how I add in another device. T...

Question on master tool mode

Have a problem with getting master tool mode to work. This is not a MSM issue, I'm sure its an operator doesn't know what he's doing issue. Working on my first program. I issue a T1 M06 to load the probe tool. I load it, and using the msm probing screen to find the corner of the piece in my vise and...

Re: Question on going to tool change position

Dave, I really appreciate how you take the time to so completely answer questions, that in most forums, would get a - Learn what your doing and ask again. Not only do you respond quickly and thoroughly, but you have a not-common ability to answer in real english, not geek-speak or language that a ex...

Re: Question on going to tool change position

Ah, bless you. I thought I was really losing it. Your posts were great and I felt sure I now understood it. Then I ran the code and it moved to the TCP + TLO. I looked at the code and couldn't see where it said to move again. Thanks for clearing this up and also helping clear up how TC is handled. T...

Re: Question on going to tool change position

Dave, I just finished doing a bunch of testing and something is a bit odd. Your explanation was very clear and it made perfect sense. So I set the TCP, set up a few tools with simple TLO's of 1, and moved the mill to a std position. Then I typed M6T1. Mill worked perfect, moved right to the TCP. I t...

Re: Question on going to tool change position

Thanks Dave, and BTW - thanks for that safety code:) I thought I had it, but I must be missing something. You said TLO is disabled during a TC, which makes perfect sense to me, you don't want the mill moving up and down - just going to the TCP which if you put it to max Z, gives you max room. But th...

Re: Question on going to tool change position

Thanks Dave. Yes, it helped. I was "somewhat" aware of how the offsets work, but thought that the tool change position would not use them making the machine always end up in the exact same orientation. The problem that I hit, was I set the TCP with TLO's of 0. I positioned the spindle left...
