Ah ha!

You are one of the most responsive vendors I have had the pleasure of dealing with. Thanks again for your timely responses.

Is "Verify Axis" the same as "set steps per unit" in Mach3?

Hi Dave,

I need to access the "set steps per unit" function that's under the Settings page in Mach. Is that the same as the Verify Axis boxes in MSM?

Thanks,

Chris

Re: TLO measurement issue. Tool crashing into TCP touch plat

Thanks again Dave.

I cut a couple parts this morning and the TLO measurement and Z location probing functions worked perfectly.

Re: TLO measurement issue. Tool crashing into TCP touch plat

Thanks Dave, First off. I made a mistake. I have version 2.0.6 installed. I looked at the manual and set the probe feed rates back to 20 fast and 10 slow. I followed the instructions for debug logging. When I tried measuring my master tool it it touched the plate and I could hear the stepper skip a ...

Re: TLO measurement issue. Tool crashing into TCP touch plat

Dave,

Can you let me know how to turn on data logging so we can debug this issue? I really need to get this sorted out in the next couple days.

Thanks,

Chris

Re: TLO measurement issue. Tool crashing into TCP touch plat

I reduced the fast feed rate from 25IPM to 10IPM and the slow feed rate from 10 to 5 IPM. I also increased the Z clearance from .070" to .125". These seemed to work on the first couple TLO measurements. Then I tried measuring the height of my workpiece with the mobile touch plate and it ha...

TLO measurement issue. Tool crashing into TCP touch plate.

Hi Dave, Over the summer I added an ESS to my system. It has really transformed the machine. It's smoother, faster and more reliable. However, I have one problem that seems to crop up occasionally. When I measure tools once in a while I run into one that just wants to keep pushing into the TCP touch...

Tool change: bigger indicator that the touch plate is active

Hi Dave, Sometimes chips land in just the right spot that they short out my touch plate. I have a couple ideas on how to change my design but I haven't settled on one yet. I know that there is an indicator on the tool change page that shows when the touch plate is active, but sometimes I miss it and...

ATLO enhancement request

Hi Dave, I had a problem the other day. I used a long drill that when in the TCP was too low to be safely moved over the part. It moved into position safely and the drilling op worked fine, but when it was done the tool retracted to the safe Z height in the g code, then plunged down to the tool chan...
