MachStdMill v2.2.0 (Professional Edition) Beta Release is now available.
Feature highlights for this MSM Beta release include: Release date: June 6th, 2015 (MSM beta releases have a maximum 60 day life)
Ther have been several recent reports of the MSM brains either not getting enabled (a long, long standing bug in mach that has not been fixed) or the Brains being enabled, but just not doing anything. This has become a support issue - and we dislike spending time on support caused by unfixed bugs in Mach 3.
So, starting wiht this release, MSM no longer uses any Mach 3 brains! The (now removed) MSM brains used to handle the rapid override LED, the feed rtate override LED and the dynamic cycle start change button on the Tooling page. The former brain functions have been replaced by logic in a periodic script.
From the user point of view, there should be no discernable difference between this and the 2.1.9 production release.
With this MSM release, the minimum and recommended mach versions for use with MSM are:
For MSM Mill: To use MSM Mill you must run Mach 3.43.22 or newer. (3.43.22 is the current Mach3 "Lockdown" release) .
CVI recommends Mach 3.43.66 for use MSM Mill only use. If you plan to run MSM Mill-Turn you will want to use mach 3.43.66 so that you do not have to change mach versions when switching between Mill and Mill-Turn use. For MSM Turn and MSM Mill-Turn: To use MSM Turn or MSM Mill-Turn you must run Mach 3.43.38 or newer. (This is the first release which included several Lathe specific DROs which MSM uses) .
CVI recommendsMach 3.43.66 for use with MSM Turn and Mill-Turn. All CVI recommended Mach releases are available from the CVI web site as a convenience for our customers.
Notice: CVI provides Beta releases as a courtesy for customers that have good technical competency and are interested in previewing and testing the latest product features.
Beta releases are not for general use and have a higher than normal probability of containing bugs. While CVI does basic testing before posting a beta release, beta releases are not guaranteed to have passed all release software tests. Beta releases should only be used with extra caution.
